- WHO MAY BORROW:
Anyone with a valid, CMU ID may watch any of the materials in the Video Collection on the premises. Only instructors may remove items from the Collection for use in class. Instructors may include faculty, graduate students, or staff who are listed in the printed or on-line course schedule as the primary instructors of courses.
- RESERVING VIDEO MATERIALS:
Instructors who wish to use a specific item in a particular class section should send mail to jh51@andrew.cmu.edu, call x85727, or make the request in person at the Video Collection. The instructor should specify the title and call number of the material, and the date and time at which it will be used. The material will be available in the Video Collection twenty-four hours before the specified class time.
- PREVIEWING VIDEO MATERIALS
Instructors may borrow up to two items overnight, to preview them for class use. Materials reserved for use in specific class sessions may not be borrowed until after the session in question.
- BORROWING FOR CLASS USE:
Faculty members are permitted to borrow up to four items from the collection for same-day class use.
- STAFF AND TEACHING ASSISTANTS:
Staff and Teaching assistants (TAs) may not borrow videos for overnight preview, but may pick up materials for same-day class use as a proxy for the instructor of record. The primary instructor of the course must inform the Video Collection Manager (Jeff Hinkelman, 268-6075 or jh51@andrew.cmu.edu) ahead of time of the course number, items required, and the name of the proxy who will be picking up the materials.
